ORC Component Classes for Btrieve
---------------------------------
This set of classes provides a C++ interface to Btrieve for DOS and Windows
developers. The classes are not simply 'wrappers' around the BTRV() function,
but are the result of abstracting Btrieve functionality, yielding an object
oriented class design. Developers may access all the features of Btrieve
version 5.1 in a much simpler and intuitive manner than is provided by either
Btrieve's C interface or by C++ wrappers.
* Thirteen classes encapsulating Btrieve 5.1 functionality. Developers
would normally use three to six classes directly.
* Includes base class for deriving application data classes
* Incredibly easy to use extended operations -- input and output buffers
are managed automatically
* Developers will spend more time on the application rather than
dealing with an error prone interface
* Newcomers to Btrieve programming benefit by a much shorter learning
curve
* Step-by-step tutorial enables easy learning
* Examples illustrate how to integrate classes with your application's
business data classes
* Specifically supports Microsoft C++ 7.0 and Borland C++ 3.x compilers
(no templates used)
* All SOURCE CODE included
* Manual and class references included...over 100 pages
* Sixty days free support
Time is Money! The chief benefit is reduced development time...thus reduced
cost. Well designed, implemented and documented class libraries provide
reusable, easily customized classes which save hour after hour of coding and
testing. They are both easy to learn and easy to use since the classes are
designed around the way programmers think about Btrieve programming. And it
makes revisions much less daunting!
Also, these classes will form a basis for additional tools under development
by Object Resource Corporation.
Requires Btrieve.
Used by professionals since 1991.
Version 3.0 released December, 1992
Suggested Retail $375
Site licensing available
A SHAREWARE version is available on CompuServe as an intorduction to this
product's design. File BTCL22.ZIP is available in the BCPPDOS, MSLANG and
NOVLIB forum libraries.

ORC Key Classes for Btrieve
---------------------------
Btrieve recognizes data formats that are not directly supported by C++. This
set of classes adds that support, allowing C++ programmers to directly access
and manipulate data stored in any of the Btrieve formats. This is especially
valuable when writing C++ code to access files created by Basic, Pascal or
Cobol programs since moving data between formats (from lstring to zstring,
for example) becomes trivial.
* Classes to support string, integer, float, date, time, decimal, money,
logical, numeric, bfloat, lstring, zstring, unsigned binary and auto-
increment Btrieve key types
* Classes encapsulate buffer length issues when copying from one object
to another
* Very straightforward easy-to-learn interface
* Simple, concise instructions and examples
* Use the power of inheritance to customize the behavior of data types
without duplicating existing code and without a resulting maintenance
nightmare
* Includes conversion to and from Borland String, Date and Time classes
and Microsoft CString and CTime classes
Well designed, implemented and documented class libraries provide reusable,
easily customized classes which save hour after hour of coding and testing.
And the power of C++ makes revising your code a much shorter, less error
prone process!
Btrieve NOT required.
Version 1.0 released February, 1993.
